Still Going Strong!

Yesterday afternoon we had our weekly doctor's appointment. First we had the biophysicals and then we saw Dr. Rai. The biophysicals went well, Hannah and Jonathan passed right away, but Hayden was being a little stubborn. While she had no problem passing the movement parts of the bio she refused to practice her breathing continuously for 30 seconds. She would do it for 20 seconds here and 10 seconds there, but not all at the same time. She still passed and they aren't worried about it because she has always done well before. They are definitely growing and at our appointment next week we will know how much for sure. They have been very busy babies lately and being able to watch them during the ultrasound was kind of funny. You can see hands and feet flying all over the place! While we were waiting for Hayden to do her breathing you could see someones little feet kicking her right in the stomach. Poor thing!

After our ultrasound we went back to see Dr. Rai, who I absolutely love, and went over the signs of preterm labor again. We talked a little about the aftermath of having a c-section, too. I had no idea that you aren't suppose to drive for four weeks after you have one! How am I going to get to and from the hospital everyday to see my babies?! I guess I need to start reading up more on that topic! She also checked my cervix again and it's 3.5 cm dilated now, but it is still pretty long so that is good. You don't want to be dilating and have a short cervix, or have one that is dilating quickly. Mine has been pretty slow and steady so if it stays on that track it could be a while before we see any babies. I did pack a bag again this time and I even threw in a t-shirt and shorts for Adam. I even packed one for Olivia! Slowly but surely I am starting to get more prepared. I am even hoping to have the nursery done by this weekend!

So all is well here! Week 32 here we come!

Olivia's First Iowa Basketball Game

Liv went to her first Iowa basketball game. Iowa vs. Michigan. She did very well at first, clapping and cheering when everyone else did. Then after about an hour she didn't really want to sit anymore, and she didn't want to be held, she just wanted to run free. Which in turn led us to leaving early and missing what we heard was a pretty good game. They went into overtime. But that is OK because the look on her face when she was clapping and cheering with everyone else was worth it all!

Olivia's First Surgery!

Wednesday Olivia had her first surgery. She had tubes put in her both ears. Our doctor thought that it was necessary due to the fact she has at least six ear infections in the last six months. Olivia handled the whole thing very well, and mommy and daddy were very surprised on what a big girl she was. We had to be there at 6:45 am, and she couldn't have anything to eat or drink beforehand. She was a little upset about that when she first woke up but soon got over once we left the house.

Here she is playing while we waited to go back to the pre-op room.

Showing off her bracelet or what she was calling her "ouchie" while back in the pre-op room.

After the surgery, 2 hours later, having some "crunchies" (Captain Crunch) and "wa-wa" (water) on the couch.

Passed out on the couch a half hour later. Mom then took her back to her crib were she slept for two and a half hours!

Then when she woke up she was back to her normal self ready and ready to party!

The whole process went very well and was very short, and Olivia continues to do extremely well. Now hopefully this will take care of the ear infections.

Today's Dr. Visit

Adam and I went to the doctor today and had a really good visit. I am still dilated at 3 cm, and the babies all looked great! So I got to go back home and our next appointment is scheduled for Thursday the 26th.

We were so excited! I took Dr. Yankowitz advice this time and packed a bag. He says that when don't pack one, like I didn't do last time, you end up having to stay. And if you do pack one then everything checks out OK. So this time I made sure that I had everything ready!

I know a lot of you are wondering how much the babies are weighing now and we really don't know. They only do growth scans every 4 weeks. Two weeks ago they weighed in Baby A (Hannah) at 2 lbs 2 oz, Baby C (Hayden) at 2 lbs 8 oz, and Baby B (Jonathan) at 3 lbs 2 oz. I did find on a website where you can plug in how many babies you are having and what week you are at and it gives you an approximate weight for each of them. So according to that, at 30 weeks and four days they say that they babies should weight around 3 lbs 3.7 oz. I am praying that the girls are close to that, and I am pretty sure that Jonathan is well above that by now! He is such a big boy!

So that is all for now. Hopefully we will make it to our next appointment!

Good News!

Just found out that I can go home today!

They checked my cervix early this morning and I haven't dilated much since Friday. Then we went over to do a biophysical on all the babies and check their fluids, and they all passed with a 100%. And then we went and monitored their heart rates for about 40 minutes and all went really well with that. So they decided that I could go home this afternoon! Yeah!

So the next question! Are you on bed rest? No, but I am suppose to take it easy. No strenuous activities, no lifting, cleaning, laundry...they said to think of it as I'm on vacation. When I asked about Olivia, they said that it is okay for her to sit on my lap but that I'm not to lift her. That is going to be the hardest part about being home!

So we made it to 30 weeks! Now we pray that they can hold out day by day.

We will keep you posted!

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day was a pretty good day for me and the babies. They are still hanging in there and doing good, and I had some visitors. First, my sister Theresa and her son Matthew stopped. They brought me a bag of goodies and Matthew had a good time playing in the closet, spinning in circles, and eating my lemon cake. He is so adorable! I took some pictures that I hope to post soon. Then soon after they left my mom came. When she got here they had just started to monitor the babies heart rates and to see if I was having any contractions. I was so glad to see her. It can take for ever sometimes for them to get a good read on all of them at the same time. They are a bunch of movers! But they are all looking good, and my contractions are few and far between now. So two pluses there!

Adam came later that night and we watched a movie and had some popcorn. He made arrangements for my mom to watch Liv so he could stay here the night. It was so nice to have him here to snuggle with. Well, until I had to move to the recliner because of my acid reflux! Dr. Griener came in the morning and we talked about the plan for today. She said that if everything goes good today then maybe I would be able to go home tomorrow. Their concern is that because I am already dilated some I could go into active labor soon. And they don't want these babies popping out at Target and ending up on the news! So today we did another hour of monitoring which went really good again, and I did a lot of exploring around the hospital. They wanted me to do some more moving around to see if I would start contracting and that went well. No crazy contractions. Then this afternoon they took out my IV, which had not even been used.

2 Weeks!
